Jim will use his powerpoint presentation to introduce the subject.

There will be a practical session spent photographing in the nursery borders.

There will be opportunity for individual coaching and helpful tips.

Cost £35.00. This includes morning coffee and biscuits and afternoon tea with homemade cake. Please bring a picnic lunch. And your digital camera!

Digital cameras and photographs - what exactly is a digital camera. Should you buy a 'compact' or SLR, the pros and cons. The relevance of pixels and megapixels and how you can store and back up your digital images.

Digital cameras the basics - Some basic photographic terms in language that everyone can understand.

Creativity Backgrounds and lighting - Basic rules of composition and how light and the angle of view can be used creatively. The use of backgrounds and reflectors to achieve that professional looking studio shot (without the need for a studio!)

Image manipulation - now you've got some digital pictures how can you improve them on your computer (sorry no mac -  PC only!!) Cropping, adjusting sharpness, rotation and cloning parts of the image are outlined. The need to resize and compress for email and correcting colours when needed.

Using your pictures - What can you do with your pictures? Brighten up your desktop with wallpaper, screensavers or create a simple slideshow. You could even create a website or blog full of colourful images.

Putting it all together - A summary and time for questions on any items not covered.
